Intelligence Artificielle pour les Sciences de l’Ingénieur : Innovation et Solutions pour les Environnements sous Contraintes

The major challenge confronting academics in Africa is to produce, with limited resources, global engineers who embody innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability. AI presents unique opportunities to address it.

  1. 01
Integrate AI into engineering curricula, teaching and assessment.
  2. 02
Share innovations and case studies built for resource-constrained contexts.
  3. 03
Strengthen partnerships between academia, industry and international networks.
  4. 04
Promote sustainable and inclusive engineering education.

In the press

“African engineering is drawing its future”

Cameroon’s national daily covered the closing of the forum — the first time Cameroon hosted the event, one year after Marrakech.

Teachers must take ownership of AI. The challenge is twofold: training responsible learners able to use these technologies wisely, while overcoming structural barriers such as the cost of equipment, the lack of energy and slow internet connections.

Prof. Marie-Joseph Nida-Ntamack Dean, Faculty of Science, University of Douala

Our goal was to rethink engineering training holistically by integrating AI, while taking our limited resources into account.

Prof. Justin Moskolaï General Co-Chair of the organising committee

As young engineers, we have a decisive role to play in developing an AI designed by us and for us.

Gaby Béatrice Tchounla Student-researcher, Polytechnic School of Douala
