Presentation

Producing global engineers with limited resources

An organiser interviewed by the press in front of the AEEF 2026 roll-up banner

Artificial Intelligence is revolutionising sectors across the world, including education. In developing countries, institutions face significant challenges: limited access to quality teaching resources, inadequate infrastructure and a shortage of skilled educators. The major challenge confronting academics in Africa is to produce, with limited resources, global engineers who espouse innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability.

For its sixth edition, the African Engineering Education Association (AEEA) organised the forum around artificial intelligence. Participants critically examined approaches to teaching, learning and curriculum structures that advance engineering education in resource-constrained environments, and fostered exchange, links and collaboration between member nations and the rest of the world.

The 2026 edition was held at the Complex of Professionalization of the Faculty of Science, University of Douala (Ndogbong campus), under the patronage of the Rector, Prof. Magloire Ondoa.
